    Description

    Navajo Whirling Log Stamped Sterling Silver Cuff Baby Infant Bracelet.
    Short history of this piece:  my friend's mother passed away recently at the age of 89.  We found this piece in her "treasure chest".   The family spent many years in Winslow, Arizona;
    I'm confident it came from there.
    It measures just under 2" from one side to the other.  A slight bit of distortion on one side.  Pretty sure you will be able to see what I'm referring to in the pictures.  Like most older pieces, it is not stamped or hallmarked for silver content.  It is sterling, or a slightly lower, grade of silver.
    Short history of the "Whirling Log" pattern:  the symbol is similar to the Nazi Swastika and that is the reason the Native American artisans stopped using it.  For the Native Americans the symbol is associated with healing ceremonies.  The pieces, even here in the Southwestern US, can be hard to find.  An infant/baby bracelet - I've never seen one before.
