The flux is an excellent solvent for aluminium oxide, promoting strong joints free of oxide inclusions. This aluminium welding flux is formulated for welding 52-S, as well as the pure 2-S aluminium sheet used in aircraft. The flux works best with oxy-acetylene gas torches using an aluminium filler rod
    To remove flux residues after use, immerse the workpiece in a 10-20% strength mix of caustic soda
