Requena Conga Drum

Description

Extremely rare Cuban Requena conga, very light weight tack head drum, looked unplayed when found, sold to me a few years ago. The skin was ripped and had retracted due to the age of the drum, was unplayable. Tuning hardware and bands were custom-made of steel by master artisan Alberto Delgado and brand new skin custom fitted. Tunes nicely, and has a beautiful classic sound, with two tone vintage Cuban look. 30” tall, 10” playing surface, 5 lugs, tune as a conga and the range of tones is amazing with sharp slaps, clean open tones and deep bass. A GREAT drum to play as a single drum!
